How to Transfer a Car Title in North Dakota

To introduce a car title in the state of North Dakota, it’s a good idea to read these instructions, locate all the appropriate lines on the title, and read any instructions on the title before you start filling in the information.

Fill in the following information near the middle of the front page of your North Dakota title.

  1. Where it says “Name of the buyer (first, middle, last),” print the seller’s name.
  2. On the next line, print the buyer’s street address, city, state, and zip code in the appropriate places.
  3. In the box that says “Odometer reading,” write down the car’s current mileage. Next to that, write down the date the vehicle was sold.
