How to Transfer a Car Title in Utah

To introduce a car title in the state of Utah, it’s a good idea to read these instructions, locate all the appropriate lines on the Utah car title, and read any instructions on the title before you start filling in the information.

  1. In the block that says “Odometer disclosure,” enter the vehicle’s current mileage.
  2. To the right of the odometer disclosure are two more colored blocks. In the top block, enter the date the vehicle was sold, and in the lower block, enter the sale price.
  3. The seller should print their name on the line that says “Print name of the seller.” Note that if two people own the vehicle, both of them need to fit their names on the same line.
  4. On the next line, the seller should print their current address.
  5. The seller should sign their name(s) on the next line. Again, if two people are selling the car, both of them need to fit their signature on this line. Write the date you are signing the title at the end of this line.
  6. Write the buyer’s name on the next line. If there are two buyers, both names must go on this line.
  7. On the next line, print the buyer’s street address.
  8. Print the buyer’s city, state, and zip code on the next line in the appropriate sections.
  9. The final line is where the buyer(s) should sign their name(s).
