To transfer a car title in the state of Virginia, it’s a good idea to read these instructions, locate all the appropriate lines on the title, and read any instructions on the title before you start filling in the information. Transferring a car title is an important part of the process when you junk a car in Virginia.
Look for this information on the front of your Virginia title, near the bottom.
- Have the buyer print their name where it says “Buyer(s) name.” Have them print their address and city/state/zip code on the appropriate lines under that.
- On the next set of lines, fill in the odometer reading, the date you sold your vehicle, and the sale price.
- Sign your name where it says “Signature(s) of seller.” Print your name on the next line. If a second owner needs to sign and print their name as well, they can do it on the line below.
